Mushroom head, a high flow air filter, is commonly known as mushroom head due to its appearance resembling mushrooms growing in the ground. It is installed at the inlet of the engine intake system and is an assembly composed of one or several clean air filter components. Its main function is to filter out harmful impurities in the air that will enter the cylinder, in order to reduce early wear of the cylinder, piston, piston ring, valve and valve seat. Due to the different suction range of this type of air filter from the original flat position air separator, it has the advantage of larger intake flow, especially on vehicles with turbocharged and supercharged engines that require more intake, its advantage is obvious.
